Week 7 Inquiry Activity

The stories in the Crocodile Specialist Group Newsletter are about crocodilians, specifically about conservation efforts, human interaction and new scientific discoveries about them.

The target audience appears to be those interested in crocodilians and in reporting only about them, the newsletter draws this target audience towards it by having a variety of information on the topic.

A science journalist could find some interesting information here about crocodiles, such as articles on humans’ fear of crocodilians or reports on their population changes.

The newsletter is effective in containing all of the information it wants to. It does, however, seem a little cluttered and unprofessional. This are a few segments made up solely of text with no white space.

Week 7 Practical Activity

Upon reviewing my assignment, I did not find any spelling, punctuation or style errors, even when checked with the Marking Key checklist. It was helpful to have the checklist, even if i found relatively little use for it.

Quiz A

I had some slight difficulty with homophones, confusing the meanings of ‘principle’ and ‘principal’. I also forgot ‘minuscule’ originates from the word ‘minute’.

I had very little difficulty with this quiz, having read the correct chapter of the textbook minutes before.
